Funny you should say that, I'm a game designer/developer as main profession..
I doubt you know what real "out of the box" thinking is ;)
Trust me I've tried to make games fair, but even then, people find a way to complain.
so u are a game designer who tried to make games fair? but u never play it urself? that's a big hypocrite talking... it seems i know more about "out of the box" thinking then u ever will....
You're selectively choosing what you do and don't want to understand again.
Let me put it to you word for word.
I'm a game designer (someone who thinks up and makes games such as rakion, COD, BF3 etc).
The fact that I'm working in the game industry alone, demands that one must know how to think out of the box in order to make an innovating new piece of epicness.
Out of the box thinking has nothing to do with adjusting to someone elses desires.... that's called compassion and sympathy.
Out of the box thinking means that you look for new figures and shapes (something that isn't within the known spectrum).
Or in my case, new ways of gameplay and GUI information sending to the user (if you don't know what GUI is, look it up).
Now onto ingame affairs which has nothing to do with my profession.
Well maybe a bit because I play games in a whole different way than normal players do as I learn by playing how the game has been setup, textured, applied with physics and lots more.
To make a game completely fair, everyone needs the same equipment, stats, cells (if you really need them, ugh suck) and latency strength (connection vs graphic performance for the less educated).
This is impossible to achieve as not a single pair of humans on this doomed planet have a completely identical rig setup.
So with that knowledge, you can only TRY to make it as fair as POSSIBLE.
Lets evaluate what the main causes of ingame cry are:
Lag: not everyone has a top notch connection, deal with it.
Gear: some have played longer and others have paid more, deal with it cause without the cash buyers, the game would have died out years ago.
Cells: those that aren't really good at using their character, will resort to AI controlled engines that do all the work for you, but you can't control anything else other than time and place of spawning.
DB & Honor necklace: these are part of the gear family that have been a major discussion over the past few years. Though, unlike cells, these still require you to do all the work and believe me, if it was so easy to kill people with them, why hasn't anyone been able to kill me with them 1v1? Exactly, experience.
Now I can understand that adapting to the new age of rakion, might be a bit frustrating, but hey, I've managed perfectly, so why can't you?
Given that we both (if I am to believe that what you said is true) have played since the beginning of this ingenious game, it shouldn't be so hard to adapt to these changes.
Now you can continue to hate on me all you want, and quite frankly, I like it.
But it won't get you anywhere. As I still hold all the aces ingame.
My goal is not to piss everyone off ingame, my goal is to take the fun that was taken from me over the years on rakion.
The fact that it's pissing everyone off in the process shows exactly how frustrating it has been for me back then ;)
And because people can only give damage, but not endure it, makes it so enjoyable.
With this, I think we've spent more than enough time discussing outside of the game.
I'll let my chakrams do the rest of the talking ;)
PS: coloured, please remember that I cannot see your posts, so no need to rage about getting bent over ingame ;)
