I get this every now and then. Usually it's something to do with your internet connection.
Try making sure you don't have other games or platforms updating when trying to download the patch.
If that doesn't change anything, try restarting your computer, it could have slowed down for being on too long.
If that doesn't do it either, try restarting your router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
