I've always been fascinated by luxurious fabrics, but I feel like I don’t fully understand what makes them truly "high-end." I know silk and cashmere are considered luxurious, but what about other materials? What determines whether a fabric is considered luxurious—its texture, rarity, production process, or something else? Also, are there any new high-end fabrics gaining popularity in fashion right now? I'd love to hear from those who know more about this!

hat’s a great question! Luxury fabrics are usually defined by a combination of factors, including their rarity, how they’re produced, and of course, their feel and durability. Silk, cashmere, and velvet have long been considered high-end, but other fabrics like vicuña wool, mohair, and even certain types of lace are also in that category. The process of making these fabrics is usually more labor-intensive, with some being handwoven or requiring specialized craftsmanship. For example, vicuña wool is one of the rarest and most expensive fabrics in the world because it comes from an animal that can only be shorn every few years. https://www.finehomesand...es-of-luxurious-fabrics/

The craftsmanship behind luxury fabrics is a huge part of what makes them special. It’s not just about the raw material but also the way it's woven or treated. I’ve noticed that some high-end brands are now offering limited-edition pieces made from ultra-rare fabrics, like lotus silk, which is incredibly soft and sustainable.
