Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to settle a debate about the height of a tennis net. I know it’s lower in the middle than at the posts, but I’m not sure of the exact measurements. How tall is a tennis net in the middle, and how does that compare to the height of the posts?

Also, is there any variation between singles and doubles matches, or is the net height always the same?

Would love to hear from someone with experience setting up a court.

Thanks!

I’ve set up quite a few courts, and the key thing to check is that the center strap is properly tightened to keep the middle at 3 feet. If it’s too loose, the net can sag too much, affecting play.

Hi! Just to clarify, the net should be 91.4 cm (3 feet) in the middle and 107 cm (3 feet 6 inches) at the posts. So yes, it does sag in the center. If you're arguing with someone, like this comment and show it to them!

The height of the tennis net is the same for both singles Suika game and doubles. There is no difference in net height between the two forms of play.
